Trustee Conflict of Interest Form

We follow the guidance of the Charity Commission, and are very careful to not allow personal interests, or the interests of people or organisations connected to members of the board of trustees influence the decisions made. We make decisions for what is in the best interest of the charity, and it’s objectives.

Generally, there are two common types of conflict of interest: Financial conflicts (when a trustee, or person or organisation connected to them, could receive money or something of value from a trustee decision) or Loyalty conflicts (when a board member might not be able to make decisions that are best for the charity due to personal motivations).

Before we sign you in as a trustee, we ask that you disclose any potential conflicts up front. Sharing any conflicts is unlikely to prevent your trusteeship, as most can be mitigated. (This does not include any situation where you may be automatically disqualified as holding a trustee position by the Charity Commission).
