ABOUT THE ROLE


Have you ever seen the epic charity ads that come out at Christmas? Did you ever want to take a shot at some of those? Now is your chance!

The Mikaere Foundation is seeking a dedicated and passionate Volunteer Campaign/Marketing and Comms person to join our team. This part-time role is ideal for individuals eager to gain experience in the charity sector, for senior Creative or Art Directors who wish to contribute their expertise or for someone looking to make a difference.

You will play a vital role in helping to raise awareness of the Mikaere Foundation, strengthen our comms and bring our campaigns and initiatives to life. You’ll help shape compelling stories and content that engage our audiences, grow our reach and inspire people to support our work.

Working alongside our Trustees, you will develop and deliver creative marketing and communications activity across our digital channels, support campaign planning and execution, and help ensure the Foundation has a strong, consistent and engaging voice. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your ideas, creativity and expertise to a growing charity, while making a meaningful contribution to the communities and causes we support.

Ideally you’d be up for taking point on one of the campaigns. (Say, Christmas?)

This role is voluntary and unpaid, but is very flexible. This is a great way to expand your knowledge of the charity sector and develop new skills.

DUTIES
  • Ideating and developing strategies for our annual campaigns, with aligned with our aims and values. These campaigns should raise awareness, increase engagement and encourage donations, while staying within the Mikaere Foundation brand.
  • Supporting the planning, development and delivery said campaigns, which will include developing creative concepts, messaging and campaign materials, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to our annual campaign communications.
PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
  • Minimum age 18
  • Time commitment: flexible to fit in with your life commitments, but we ask for a 15 minute virtual meet up every fortnight to discuss progress, and every week in the lead up to a campaign launch.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Please be willing to share your creative work/skills/experience as part of your application.
