Challenge yourself for NKH Research
Fundraisers with the Challenge Events raises valuable funds for the Mikaere Foundation and families living with Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) across the year. There are many different events you can participate in:
London Winter Walk
25 or 26 January 2025
10km, 21km or 42km route options
Walk off the festive celebrations and kick start a New Year fitness regime, or do some early training for a full Ultra Challenge later in the year. Choose your distance – Full Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K, wrap up and walk on Saturday or Sunday. You’ll get a winter neck buff, a medal, hot food & drink – and an invigorating capital hike.
NKH 100 Mile Challenge
July 2025
100 miles or 300miles across the month
Get moving with the NKH 100 Mile Virtual Challenge! Walk, run, cycle, swim, dance – you choose! Anyone, anywhere can participate. All you need is a smartphone. All proceeds raised go towards NKH Research.

Explore the ‘gateway to London’ along the River Thames eastern section – a route steeped in history and capped with a BBQ & bar at the finish – and a great summer bank holiday weekend adventure!

Take on a spirited 10km or an energetic 10 mile looped route through the heart of London as darkness falls, passing famous landmarks – including St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and more.

100 miles or 300miles across the month
Venture across the Capital with unrivalled views of the skyline. Setting out from Putney Bridge – it’s East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 of London’s historic bridges!

Run the 2025 London Landmarks Half Marathon
Run the LLHM and make a difference! One in three children born with NKH won’t see their first birthday. We can change this! Conquer this stunning closed road, central London run – the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. This scenic run is great for first-time runners or regular runners wanting to hit their PB.
